The Powershell Script History and logs are stored in the following registry location
You will need to navigate to a subtree in their GUID
How do I get the GUID for my Intune Script?
A result was coming Failed with the below
$ : The term '$' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program.
Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.
At C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Intune Management
On running the scripts get copied here briefly then run and deleted : C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Intune Management Extension\Policies\Scripts
You have to be fast but you can copy the .ps1 file to e.g. C:\Temp and check what the machine was getting , to resolve this issue I had to recopy the file into Powershell ISE and resave and upload.
How to Run the Scripts Manually
Change DownloadCountand ErrorCode to 0 and set Result and ResultDetails to nothing (empty string). After this we just restart the Microsoft Intune Management Extension Service (IntuneManagementExtension) and the script will rerun again on this device
Recently I tried to stop a VPG in Zerto after some DR testing, however, the Stop failed and the errors showing where :
Forcibly delete VPG in Error State : Undo Log Isn’t Empty can’t start new transaction
After lodging a call with Zerto Support, we had to forcibly remove the VPG Via Powershell and Re-Add it back
**Before you do this I recommend you log down all the VM’s in the VPG and the Temp Data Drives
You will need to download and install the Zerto Powershell Tools : Zerto.PS.Commands.Installer for your version
After this is run you need to Open the Zerto Powershell and run
Enter the VPG Name without Quotes
Enter the IP of the Zerto Server and username and password ( admin / password )
Once removed you can use the Zerto Virtual Replication Diagnostic Tool to import the VPG from the old setting file :
Then navigate to :
C:\Program Files\Zerto\Zerto Virtual Replication\ExportedSettings
Find the latest backup and try and re-import the VPG
If this fails for whatever reason you will need to use the GUI at the customer side to recreate manually hence Note to backup VM names and Temp Data Drivers
Installing N-able on a windows machine is as simple as running an MSI with the customer ID and creates an activation key for you
On a Mac you would think this would be the same however not!
- Add the Device Manually on the N-able server under your client
Enter the Device Name and IP Address ( address should be fully qualified domain pc.domain.local ) , change the machine Workstation OSX and class to correct
Set Local Agent Tab to Manual Click Save Button
Navigate to the nearly created device and go to Settings and sub Tab Local Agent
Download the agent-macosx.tar.gz file from the link it gives you and copy the Activation Key
Extract the agent-macosx.tar.gz on the Mac after downloading
If you getcan’t be open because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed”, please change Security and Privacy settings as follow ?nd try again:
1. Open “System Preferences”
2. Select “Security & Privacy”
3. Go to General tab
4. Click the Lock (bottom-left corner) to unlock it (administrative password is required)
5. Set “Allow apps downloaded from” to Anywhere
6. Close the dialog
7. Repeat agent installation
8. Change “Security & Privacy” to the initial setting if needed
Once running it might fail to generate an Activation Key , if you go back you can choose to authenticate with a key , use the Key you copied from previous step and this should activate
There is a tool already in windows which can be used per below
sc.exe create “service name” binpath= “path\to\.exe” start= auto
However, only programs designed to implement ServiceMain can be run as a service with sc.exe. You might get 1053 Errors when creating services with above , if so you’ll need something like
to run any arbitrary .exe as a service.
A new 2012 Domain controller rebooted after being promoted , however on restart DNS server would not start with the follow error
The DNS server is waiting for Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) to signal that the initial synchronization of the directory has been completed. The DNS server service cannot start until the initial synchronization is complete because critical DNS data might not yet be replicated onto this domain controller. If events in the AD DS event log indicate that there is a problem with DNS name resolution, consider adding the IP address of another DNS server for this domain to the DNS server list in the Internet Protocol properties of this computer. This event will be logged every two minutes until AD DS has signaled that the initial synchronization has successfully completed.
Multiple sites online recommend a registry change to skip the initial replication , however this was production
Check the directory services event tab
This directory server has not completed a full synchronization of the following directory partition. This directory server will not available to clients until this task is completed.
Note , how big it your Sysvol + Netlogon + ntds.dit ? This will effect replication time!
The command will show this
In the end replication time won , it took 6 Hours!
