Trying to do a Firmware Upgrade on a HP Aruba array shows the message

image_upgrade_another_image_or_drt_upgrade_in_progress

 run “show swarm image-sync” on SSH on the Master controller

is showed image-sync pending, this was because a new device has been added to the cluster , but it can’t Auto Join because the Firmware on the device is newer than the cluster!

Turn off auto-join mode

Reload ( Reboot via SSH ) the master controller AP

You should see the new AP in red so you can then select them and click the ‘x’ next to them to delete it or them

run the “show swarm image-sync” again and image-sync pending should disappear so you can now upgrade

re-enable auto-join

Get the Serial numbers of the new AP ( as this is the password for SSH ) and run reload via SSH
