Cisco SFP 10GB Fibre Port Backwards Compatible

Recently a client had ordered some 10GB SFP+ for his new and old Cisco 3650 Switches , however his old ones only have 4 x 1GB Ports. The 10GB SFP+’s cannot downgrade to 1GB speed on the old or new devices!
