On the Fortigate

On the LAN Interface ( Gateway Address ) Enable SNMP

Enable SNMP with your chosen Community Name
Add the Host IP of the local N-able Agent/Server Polling the Device

In Nable

Import Following Service Templates for Fortigate


ServiceTemplateExport (1)

Add a new Device via IP Address ( Category Router ) 
Add a Professional License so that you can query the Device using SNMP

Add Service templates to device

How to get OID from MIB

Use Passler MIB Importer ( ) to get your .mib’s into .oidlib

File Open

Then File Save As 

Find the Oid list for the device

Get information about the Oid

Login to Nable and add Custom Service

Add -> Service -> SNMP

Add Oid


Add Metric for Oid

Use the information you gathered from to help you define what value you will be given e.g. String , Booleon or Number



Modify threshold for Normal/Warning and Faily

Perform maths between Oids using Calculation to Use


Apply Custom service to device , make sure device is using professional license for SNMP and SNMP is open on the device with correct version

Unable to establish CIM session with ESX server: The remote server returned an error: (501) Not Implemented.

We see Cipher Errors , SHA-1 was decomissioned in window with a windows update

Adding an HTTPS monitor for a new SSL site in N-able brought back everything online apart from Server Certificate Signature

The guide N-Able provided didn’t give much info to this alert

The validity of the SSL certificate (indicated as either valid or invalid).

The certificate did come with a Root Authority ticket from GoDaddy gd-g2_iis_intermediates, installing this on the N-Able management server resolved the error
