Outlook 2007 Resizing Images for Email Singatures

Posted by paris on Feb 3, 2010 in Research |
Recently I was trying to insert a new image in an email signature for a user , however when I inserted the image it reduced the width which changed the resolution of the signature to an unreadable format. This is due to the fact outlook tries to resize the image to the width of an A4 page. There is no where in outlook 2007 to change the size of the image. To change the image back to its original 2 1) Find the sinatures HTM File , this will be in C:\Documents and Settings\”Your Username”\Application Data\Microsoft\Signatures 2) Open ( The name of the signature).htm with Microsoft Word 3) Right click on the image , click format , select Picture tab and choose Reset Picture 4) Save the file an this will change the signature back to its original size!

The files location was different on my computer: file:///C:/Users//AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/Signatures/main.htm
However, I found an easier way to change the size of a picture — changing it directly within an email then pasting it over the signature file.

1. open a new email with the signature you want to edit
2. Resize the picture from within the new email (click on it with your mouse and resize it.
3. Select everything in your signature with your mouse (left click and drag the mouse over the signature)
4. Copy the signature (control c)
5. Open up the signature file from within the new email message. Click on the arrow directly under the signature icon. It is in the message tab on the menu. The icon looks like a paper being written on by a pencil. Select signatures, then select the name of the signature you want to change.
6. Select everything in the signature you are editing.
7. Replace the old signature by pasting the edited signature over top of it (control v)
