To address this issue, we have released a new servicing stack update (SSU),\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/topic\/kb5001078-servicing-stack-update-for-windows-10-version-1607-february-12-2021-3e19bfd1-7711-48a8-978b-ce3620ec6362\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">KB5001078<\/a>. You\u00a0<u>must<\/u>\u00a0install this new SSU before installing the February 9, 2021 security update.\u201d<\/i><\/p><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">This caused me some frustration previously, with the stuck update that would never, ever finish &#8211; even after a reset of the windows update components&#8230;<br \/>Have verified the order of installation seems to work<\/p><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">KB5001078 was already installed on the server but still the update would not install (stuck at downloading 0% on one server and preparing to install on another server).<\/p><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">I had to do what Microsoft published on their article as the previous SSU (KB4601332) was already installed on the server before KB5001078 was installed:<\/p><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/topic\/february-9-2021-kb4601318-os-build-14393-4225-c5e3de6c-e3e6-ffb5-6197-48b9ce16446e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/topic\/february-9-2021-kb4601318-os-build-14393-4225-c5e3de6c-e3e6-ffb5-6197-48b9ce16446e<\/a><\/p><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><i>To mitigate this issue on devices that have already installed KB4601392 and are not making progress installing KB4601318, restart your device and then follow only steps 1, 2 and 4a from<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/deployment\/update\/windows-update-resources#reset-windows-update-components-manually\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">\u00a0Reset Windows Update components manually.<\/a>\u00a0Then restart your device again.<\/i><\/p><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><i>\u00a0<\/i><\/p><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"865\" height=\"935\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5009  img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/pariswells.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/img_604a8b9241cc0.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pariswells.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/img_604a8b9241cc0.png 865w, https:\/\/pariswells.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/img_604a8b9241cc0-278x300.png 278w, https:\/\/pariswells.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/img_604a8b9241cc0-768x830.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 865px) 100vw, 865px\" \/><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From Microsoft:\u201cThere is a Known Issue that halts the installation progress of the February 9, 2021 security update (KB4601318).
