{"id":4656,"date":"2020-05-19T05:22:52","date_gmt":"2020-05-19T05:22:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pariswells.com\/blog\/?p=4656"},"modified":"2020-05-19T05:22:52","modified_gmt":"2020-05-19T05:22:52","slug":"citrix-hdx-optimization-teams-audio-video-failing-to-work-on-session-disconnect-reconnect","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pariswells.com\/blog\/research\/citrix-hdx-optimization-teams-audio-video-failing-to-work-on-session-disconnect-reconnect","title":{"rendered":"Citrix HDX Optimization &#8211; Teams Audio\/Video failing to work on Session disconnect\/reconnect"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">There are a couple of key<i> <\/i><u>active<\/u> known issue about HDX Optimization failing in certain situations, the above included, as of May 2020.<\/p><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><a href=\"https:\/\/support.citrix.com\/article\/CTX253754\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">https:\/\/support.citrix.com\/article\/CTX253754<\/a><\/p><ul type=\"disc\"><li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">In Windows Server (any version, with any\u00a0VDA 1906.2 or higher), <b>session disconnect\/reconnect\u00a0might result in Teams failing to load in optimized mode<\/b> (&#8220;Citrix HDX Not Connected&#8221; in About\/Version). Citrix and Microsoft are aware of this issue and are rolling out the\u00a0fix, deployed already in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/microsoft-365\/blog\/2015\/08\/12\/managing-office-365-updates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">Ring 3<\/a>.\u00a0This will not require any component upgrade (Teams, VDA or Workspace app) and is rolled out via feature flags (sign out\/sign in required). In some scenarios, attempting to make a call will trigger Teams to try to reconnect to the Citrix services and optimization will succeed. [RFWIN-15624] [Microsoft Teams Bug ID:\u00a0873138]<\/li><li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>If Teams is configured to Auto-start, the issue in the first [above] bullet might also manifest.<\/b> We recommend disabling auto-start by deleting the Teams regkeys in HKLM\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Run, HKLM\\Software\\WOW6432Node\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Run and\u00a0HKCU\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Run<br \/><br \/><\/li><li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Endpoints with high-end sound cards (Studio quality) might fail to load in optimized mode. See section #2.1 below. Clicking on Teams\/Settings\/Devices will show &#8220;None&#8221;. Citrix is aware of this issue and working on a fix.
