Upon installation of Windows 2003 Server using the HP SmartStart disks , there is no DVD drive listed in Windows Device Manager , Windows\r\n\r\n<dl class=\"wp-caption alignleft\" style=\"width: 310px;\"> <dt class=\"wp-caption-dt\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"HP Proliant ML350 G5\" src=\"http:\/\/images.tigerdirect.com\/skuimages\/large\/HP-Proliant-ML350-G5-H24-64509-SB.jpg\" alt=\"HP Proliant ML350 G5\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/dt> <\/dl>Disk Management or under My Computer. This can be resolved by\r\n\r\n-Shutting down the server\r\n\r\n-Opening the case and locating the dip switches on the bottom right of the main board\r\n<div class=\"mceTemp\"><dl class=\"wp-caption alignleft\" style=\"width: 310px;\"> <dt class=\"wp-caption-dt\"><\/dt> <dd class=\"wp-caption-dd\">HP Proliant ML350 G5<\/dd> <\/dl><\/div>\r\n-Flicking up switch 6\u00a0 ( Maintenance Switch )\r\n\r\n&#8211; Powering up the server until it gets to the error screen &#8221; Please put the maintenance switch to the off position&#8221;\r\n\r\n&#8211; Power the server off , and as said &#8221; put the maintenance switch to the off position&#8221; (Switch 6)\r\n\r\n&#8211; Power up the server and you should have a DVD rom drive again , this is only a temporary fix , HP are aware and should be working on a solution\r\n\r\nAdded******\r\n\r\n<span class=\"Text\">This is now fixed with Bios : 2008.08.04 (A)\r\n26 Aug 2008<\/span>\r\n\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/h20000.www2.hp.com\/bizsupport\/TechSupport\/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&amp;cc=us&amp;prodTypeId=15351&amp;prodSeriesId=1121586&amp;prodNameId=3279711&amp;swEnvOID=1005&amp;swLang=8&amp;mode=2&amp;taskId=135&amp;swItem=MTX-6d7148a9cb4740d3837fe26303\">http:\/\/h20000.www2.hp.com\/bizsupport\/TechSupport\/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&amp;cc=us&amp;prodTypeId=15351&amp;prodSeriesId=1121586&amp;prodNameId=3279711&amp;swEnvOID=1005&amp;swLang=8&amp;mode=2&amp;taskId=135&amp;swItem=MTX-6d7148a9cb4740d3837fe26303<\/a>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HP&#8217;s Proliant ML350 G5 has started shipping with a SATA dvd writer.
