{"id":3303,"date":"2018-05-10T06:20:06","date_gmt":"2018-05-10T06:20:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pariswells.com\/blog\/?p=3303"},"modified":"2018-05-10T06:20:06","modified_gmt":"2018-05-10T06:20:06","slug":"may-windows-update-breaks-rdp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pariswells.com\/blog\/random\/may-windows-update-breaks-rdp","title":{"rendered":"May Windows Update breaks RDP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-au\/help\/4093492\/credssp-updates-for-cve-2018-0886-march-13-2018\">https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-au\/help\/4093492\/credssp-updates-for-cve-2018-0886-march-13-2018<\/a><\/p><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">I had one user with this issue and on Windows Home Edition \u2013 so the machine don\u2019t have GPO or Gpedit.<\/p><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">It didn\u2019t had the Registry key, way to fix was creating the Registry key manually with value=2<\/p><pre class=\"x_MsoNormal\">[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Policies\\System\\CredSSP\\Parameters]<br \/><br \/>\"AllowEncryptionOracle\"=dword:00000002<\/pre><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Group Policy path: Computer Configuration -&gt; Administrative Templates -&gt; System -&gt; Credentials Delegation\u00a0Setting name: Encryption Oracle Remediation<\/p><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">from Vulnerable to Mitigated on Client computers (Win 10, Win 7)<\/p><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">If the CredSSP patch has not been applied to the server, you will get an error and will not be able to connect.
