In the ESXi Shell or the PowerCLI shell, you see an error such as:<br \/>\u00a0[InstallationError] \u00a0<br \/>The pending transaction requires 244 MB free space, however the maximum supported size is 239 MB. \u00a0<br \/>Please refer to the log file for more details.<br \/>The issue also occurs when you attempt an ESXi host upgrade by using the ESXCLI commands\u00a0esxcli software vib update\u00a0or\u00a0esxcli software vib install.<\/p><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Workaround: You can perform the upgrade in two steps, by using the\u00a0esxcli software profile update\u00a0command to update ESXi hosts to ESXi 6.7 Update 1 or later, and then update to 7.0 Update 1c.
