{"id":1552,"date":"2015-05-20T22:18:53","date_gmt":"2015-05-20T22:18:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pariswells.com\/blog\/?p=1552"},"modified":"2015-05-20T22:18:53","modified_gmt":"2015-05-20T22:18:53","slug":"error-unable-to-copy-the-configuration-file-vmware-site-recovery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pariswells.com\/blog\/fixes\/error-unable-to-copy-the-configuration-file-vmware-site-recovery","title":{"rendered":"Error &#8211; Unable to copy the configuration file &#8211; VMWare Site Recovery"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1553 img-responsive\" src=\"http:\/\/pariswells.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/vmware_vcenter_site_recovery_manager_diagram-150x150.png\" alt=\"vmware_vcenter_site_recovery_manager_diagram\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/strong>When trying to test a Recovery Plan ( DR Bubble ) upon the starting up two of the machines we get the following error show up in the Errors<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Error &#8211; Unable to copy the configuration file &#8216;MachineName.vmx&#8217; from the host to &#8216;C:\\Windows\\TEMP\\vmware-SYSTEM\\machinename.vmx324-0&#8217;\u00a0\u00a0&#8211; No file exists for given path.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>We check the replication status manually as the gui is sometimes out of date by SSHing \u00a0into the host with the virtual machine and using:<\/p>\r\n<p>vim-cmd vmsvc\/getallvms | grep \u2013i <strong>vmname<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>This will give you the ID of the machine where you can then do this<\/p>\r\n<p>vim-cmd hbrsvc\/vmreplica.getState\u00a0<strong>vmnameid<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>The status of the machine was just IDLE instead of Inactive which is incorrect.<\/p>\r\n<p>Found using this command in\u00a0\/var\/log\/<\/p>\r\n<p>grep -i hbr vmkernel.log | grep &#8221; LWD delta transfer terminated (aborted)&#8221; | awk &#8216;{print $10}&#8217; | sort -u<\/p>\r\n<p>Brought up a load of diskid&#8217;s\u00a0that had issues one of them was our VM.
